You received notice that your building is a Repetitive Loss Property, what do you do now?
If yes, please call our office at 595-3475, so that we can update our records. For all of the remaining structures, mitigation of the property is encouraged. There are various Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Grant Programs each year that you might want to consider. For guidance from Florida Division of Emergency Management: http://www.floridadisaster.org/mitigation/SRLP/index.htm
Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Eligible Projects
1. The SRL Program allows Mitigation Reconstruction projects located OUTSIDE the regulatory floodway or Zone V as identified on the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), or the mapped limit of the 1.5-foot breaking wave zone. Mitigation Reconstruction is only permitted if traditional elevation cannot be implemented. 2. The residential structure must meet the definition of “Historic Structure” in 44 CFR § 59.1.1. The Escambia County Planning & Engineering staff is constantly working to provide and publish the most current and accurate information possible. This data is for information purposes only.
