Model Park

The Northwest Florida Modelers, Inc. (NFMI) was established in 1970 by a small group of dedicated modelers with the following primary purpose:

To stimulate and promote active interest in the building and flying of radio-controlled (R/C) model aircraft in the Northwest Florida area

NFMI GOALS :

  • Promote fellowship among people interested in R/C model aircraft
  • Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in R/C modeling activities
  • Teach young people in all phases of R/C model aircraft
  • Sponsor contests, demonstrations and activities designed to enhance the interests of R/C modelers

MEETINGS Club meetings are held monthly to take care of club business, share modeling tips, present new models and tell a few “war stories.” Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the J. E. Hall Center at 30 East Texar Drive, Pensacola, FL. All club members and anyone interested in radio-control modeling or activities of the Northwest Florida Modelers, Inc. are encouraged to attend.

NFMI CLUB ADVANTAGES Joining NFMI gives you some advantages -- frequency control, a safe place to fly, organized events, monthly meetings, and just plain fun and fellowship between modelers – and you get a bonus. With access to SEVEN flying sites, Northwest Florida Modelers, Inc. has more than most clubs dream about! If you want to become a part of this wonderful and interesting hobby, or if you need help getting started, please visit www.nfmi.org .

Everyone is welcome to come to the fields and watch. -- Clear Skies and Safe Flying!

May 5 th and 6 th “The O.J. Stillman Memorial Pattern Contest”

This event is for pilots of aircraft meeting certain criteria to fly designated aerobatic patterns. This event has been held for many years (over 20) and was formally known as the Five Flags Pattern Contest. We anticipate more than 30 out of town flyers, staying in local hotels/motels, to compete.

June 9 th and 10 th “The Second Annual IMAC Challenge Event”

This event is for pilots of scale (or near-scale) model aircraft to fly designated aerobatic maneuvers. Last years event was a huge success with nearly 40 competitors, some from as far away as North Carolina . We anticipate a bigger turnout and have rumors of entries for competitors from Texas and perhaps as far away as Las Vegas !
