Parks & Recreation

O’Connor-Colling Community Park is a 30-acre neighborhood park located at 552 Batten Boulevard in the Emerald Shores neighborhood.

November 19, 2001, the Board of County Commissioners dedicated the park in honor of LCDR Kieron O'Connor and LT Kevin Colling, both naval aviators who performed with the Blue Angels and lost their lives in an airplane crash over the skies of southern Georgia October 28, 1999.

Amenities include a covered pavilion, a playground, an approximate ¼ mile walking/jogging path, a basketball court, security lights, and a picnic area with benches and grills. The park is ADA accessible.  O'Connor-Colling Community Park lies directly under the flight path for Forrest Sherman Field where the "Blues" can be routinely seen during practice.
