The
Department provides for the planning, design, construction,
operation, maintenance, and financial management of
all current and future parks and recreation facilities.
Operational funding is provided by Escambia County's
general fund, while capital improvements made to the
park facilities are funded by the Local Option Sales
Tax along with other grant resources. With the completion
of the County's Parks and Recreation Comprehensive
Master Plan, the mission, goals, and objectives have
been put in place to lead the Department in operations
and capital improvements through 2020.
The Administration
Division of the department administers day-to-day
operations of the Parks and Recreation Department
in accordance and compliance with applicable Florida
Statutes, Escambia County Ordinances, and Board of
County Commissioner Policies and County Administrative
directives. |
