Recreational Programming

The Recreation Division of the Parks & Recreation Department is offering new recreational classes. 

Sports for Squirts is a six-week program designed to teach children ages 3 to 5 years old the basics of sports such as throwing, catching, kicking and batting. It allows children to learn basic motor skills in a fun, non-competitive environment, to help them prepare for organized youth sports. Special soft equipment is used to prevent injuries and encourage participation.

This program is being offered at PJC & Ashton Brosnaham Sportsplex. 

Sports for Squirts is associated with the National Alliance for Youth Sports and the Start Smart Program.

Dance Lessons - Ballroom and Latin rhythm adult dance lessons offered on a continuous basis.  Please call the Recreation Department at (850) 475-5220 for updates.  Lessons will be held at the Ashton Brosnaham Sportsplex.  map  Dance lessons are offered as six week sessions for $60 each session ($10 discount for registration of both sessions).

Instructor for dance lessons is Charles (Chuck) W. Antill.  Educator in all levels of American and International styles of Ballroom and Latin dance.  Experienced in dance groups, competitions, theatrical shows and seasonal productions.

C.A.M.P. - Summer Day C.A.M.P.s - Children Achieving Maximum Potential - C.A.M.P. is being offered all summer.  You may sign your children up for all summer or just one week.   C.A.M.P. is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 12 pm.  C.A.M.P. is being offerered for children 5 - 13 years of age.

Gaining ground from the roots up.  C.A.M.P. is designed for your children to thrive in a non-competitive environment while reaching their own maximum potential as a well-balanced, well-rounded young person.  This C.A.M.P. offers educational, recreational and leadership activities in a supportive and creative environment.
