New Robertson Report video: Perdido River Boat Ramp

Escambia County Television (ECTV) is proud to present a new episode of Commissioners on the Record - The Robertson Report. In this episode we take you to the official groundbreaking of a new boat ramp and park on the Perdido River. Located just off of Highway 90 on the Florida-Alabama border, the new boat ramp will eventually provide a variety of recreational activities for the entire family.

Perdido River Boat Ramp Groundbreaking

On Tuesday, February 10, Escambia County and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Perdido River Boat Ramp, 11800 Mobile Highway.

This project is funded by the Local Option Sales Tax and Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) funding at a cost of 2.3 million. The new public boat ramp on Perdido River will sit on a 4.8 acre parcel that features a boat ramp, a paddle craft launch and a covered picnic table.

Since the flood event in April, the remaining portions of asphalt and curb have further deteriorated. This has prompted Escambia County to revise the contract and plans to include complete roadway reconstruction between Fairview Drive and Clearwater Avenue (see illustration 1 in the attached PDF version of the newsletter). Full roadway replacement will also be performed in conjunction with the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA), which desired to make further improvements to its infrastructure including additional sewer main replacement and water line upgrades.
