Perdido Key Master Plan Public Meeting Video

A community meeting for the Perdido Key Master Plan was held on April 4 at the Perdido Bay Community Center. The Perdido Key Master Plan is a comprehensive document that guides development and future growth of the community, based on public input, planning initiatives, existing development, physical and environmental characteristics, and social and economic conditions. It includes analysis, recommendations and proposals for housing, transportation, facilities, land use and economy. The plan helps decision makers maintain a balance between protection and conservation and growth and development. The information contained in the plan is intended to guide decisions related to public and private use of land and public facilities in a manner compatible with the land’s character and adaptability, thus promoting good stewardship of resources.

Optional Sector Plan

The optional sector planning process provides a way for a local government to look at a large geographic area (at least 5,000 acres) and develop a balanced plan with more predictable outcomes. This process was established as an alternative to the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) process, pursuant to Section 163.3245 of the Florida Statutes. Optional sector plans, approved through comprehensive plan amendments, are initiated by the local government upon written agreement with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).
