West Florida Public Library Digs into Escambia's Past

The West Florida Public Library is pleased to announce the kickoff of Explore Pensacola History, a year-long series exploring the people, places, and events that make up Escambia County’s unique historical heritage. On Thursday, October 3, Dr. Judith Bense will kick off the series with “Unearthing Pensacola” from 6-7pm at the Main Library.

Public Meeting to be Held on Jan. 16 to Discuss Libraries

The West Florida Public Library will host a public meeting on January 16 to provide a format for public discussion and input regarding the future direction of our library system. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Escambia County Extension Services Office, 3740 Stephani Road in Cantonment.


Molino Community Complex Now Open

Approximately 150 people attended the grand opening of the Molino Community Complex, 6450 Highway 95-A North, on Wednesday, October 17. This historical renovation project included the conversion of the old Molino School into a 15,600 square foot library, community center and museum, as well as a new 7,000 square foot facility constructed for the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser. This facility will also house a polling station for early voting and elections.
