Jeff Bergosh, District 1

Commissioner Jeff Bergosh was first elected to represent Escambia County’s District 1 in 2016, and he was subsequently re-elected in August of 2020. He has served previously as the board’s Chairman for 2017-18 and 2021-2022, and as board Vice-Chairman for 2016-17 and 2020-2021.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Value Adjustment Board, a board member of the Florida Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, a board member on the Tourist Development Commission, and as a member of the Pensacola-Escambia Area Economic Development Commission.

Bergosh joined the Escambia County Commission after serving on the Escambia County School Board from 2006-2016 as the board’s District 1 member.

Commissioner Bergosh grew up in a military family and he has lived all over the world. He’s lived in Pensacola four different times in his life for a total of 27 years. His wife Sally and their three children - Tori, Nick, and Brandon - have most recently called Escambia County home since 2004.

Bergosh has owned and operated multiple successful small businesses in both California and Florida in retail and property management. For the last 18 years he has worked as a civilian defense contractor employee supporting the U.S. Navy’s training mission in the Pensacola area. He currently works as the Business Development Manager for ESA South, Inc., a Pensacola-based General Contracting firm working multiple Federal projects throughout the United States in addition to multiple Hurricane Sally Repair projects aboard NAS Pensacola. He previously worked in various capacities supporting the military training mission in the Pensacola area for Information Network Services, Lockheed Martin Information Technology Services, CH2MHill/VT Griffin, Irby Engineering & Construction, and Erica Lane Enterprises.

Active as a volunteer, the commissioner has a long history of working to strengthen our community, especially with organizations that benefit children and the military. His youth leadership development initiative, the Escambia Youth Commission, was approved by the Board of County Commissioners in 2018, and officially launched in the spring of 2019.

Bergosh is a proud graduate of Pensacola High School, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University and a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of West Florida.

Commissioner Bergosh actively interfaces with his constituents via monthly coffee meetings, frequent town hall meetings, and online via Facebook and blogger sites he operates independently.
