Graphic Novel Group

Pet Partners: Read With Me™
School-aged children are invited to register for a 15-minute session to pick a book and practice reading with a furry friend. Dogs and handlers are coordinated through Pet Partners and Cherry Point Dog Training Inc. Preregistration is requested.
Summer Reading Club
Summer Reading Club for Adults and Youth
WFPL has a summer reading program for adults and youth. The program began Tuesday, May 29 and will run until Saturday, Aug. 4. Register at any WFPL location. Remember, audiobooks are not cheating.

Minecraft - Summer STEAM at Pensacola Library
Come get your build on and play Minecraft as hosted by the West Florida Public Libraries. Beginners welcome. We will provide laptops and computers on which to play Minecraft.
T-shirt Quilting Class – Pensacola Library
Join us to learn how to create a t-shirt quilt. The library will provide the sewing machines, cutting tools and interfacing. Please bring nine of your favorite t-shirts that you don’t wear anymore and want to turn into a comfy quilt.
Become a Wikipedian
Come learn how to be a Wikipedian. What’s a Wikipedian, you ask? Wikipedians or editors are the volunteers who write and edit Wikipedia's articles, unlike readers who simply read them. Anyone, including you, can become a Wikipedian. You don’t have to be a computer wizard to learn how to be a Wikipedian, but we won’t be covering basic computer use in this workshop.
Robot Party – Summer STEAM at Pensacola Library
Everyone loves a party! Join us for the West Florida Public Libraries first Robot Party where we will learn robotics and coding. Each session will feature new robots from the WFPL collection, including CodeyBot and LEGO® Boost. You will learn to think like a robot in order to code your robot to complete each week’s challenge. Libraries Rock! TM Rock Swap with Pensacola Rocks
Guest artists from Pensacola Rocks will be present. The library will provide supplies to try your hand at painting rocks as well. Bring your painted rocks to swap with other rock painting artists. Open to all ages.
Hula Hoop Weaving
Youth ages 6-17 will create a rug, a pot holder, a hot pad or whatever they like, from a hula hoop. These items will be made from scraps of fabric woven on a loom created from a hula hoop. You are limited only by the size of the hula hoop you choose. Rugs will be quality enough to use as a scatter rug. All supplies provided.

Summer Teen Book Club at Pensacola Museum of Art
Join us on Gallery Night at the Pensacola Museum of Art to discuss “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," which is one of the Great American Read titles. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided for participants.

Passport to the World – Pensacola Library
Learn about different cultures and make crafts. Get a new stamp for your “passport” each time you attend. Monday, July 2 we will learn about Greece, Monday, July 16 we will learn about Egypt and Monday, July 30 we will learn about Canada.
Westside Loopy Loomers – Westside Branch Library
Learn to loom knit hats, scarves, lap blankets and other items as we give back to the community. Yarn and looms are provided. All ages are welcome.
Unicorn Dream Catchers
Join us to make a “unicorn dream catcher” using sparkly ribbon, yarns, flowers, gems and other craft supplies. Ages 4-17. All supplies provided.
Art Time at the Library
The Pensacola Museum of Art brings art time to Pensacola Library. Valerie Peacock, the curator of education at the PMA, will lead an open-ended process-based art activity for children at the library.
WFPL Rocks!
Have you heard? Libraries rock! Paint up some jazzy rocks to swap with your friends. All ages welcome, materials will be provided.

One-on-One Assistance and Instruction
Come to the Genealogy Branch Library for one-on-one sessions on searching for the deceased, introduction to Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest 101. Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule a private session.

Pensacola Little Theatre: Mary Poppins
Pensacola Little Theatre brings a free preview of their new show to the library. This family musical is based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film. Ages 5 and up.

Jazzy Sundays at WFPL – Pensacola Library
Sunday, July 1 join WFPL and the Pensacola Jazz Society for a viewing of the classic “The Benny Goodman Story." Sunday, July 8 we will be showing “The Gene Krupa," Sunday, July 15 come watch “The Glenn Miller Story” and on Sunday, July 29 join us to watch “Paris Blues."
WFPL’s The Great American Read Summer Movie Series
Join us this summer as we showcase movies based on the hit classics in the Great American Read. This July we will be viewing “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” starring Sam Rockwell, Zooey Deschanel, Yasiin Bey, Martin Freeman and Bill Nighy.
