The Escambia Board of County Commissioners in its regular meeting on Oct. 1, 2009, adopted a resolution establishing the Escambia County Mass Transit Advisory Committee to advise the board on mass transit issues, to help facilitate a community vision for mass transit, and to assist the board in developing and maintaining effective and efficient mass transit systems in Escambia County.

The committee shall consist of 14 members, with two members appointed by each commissioner, one member appointed by the county administrator, one member appointed by the mayor of the city of Pensacola, one by the Pensacola City Council, and one member appointed by the mayor of the town of Century. Committee members’ terms shall run concurrently with the term of the county commissioner or the mayor who appointed them. The committee member appointed by the county administrator and city council shall serve a term of four years.
