  • Distributed over 580 news releases in an effort to provide local citizens and media with consistent, up-to-date information on county activities, policies and programs.
  • Worked closely with the county’s IT staff and 37 divisions and departments to completely overhaul the county’s website. The project took more than a year to plan and implement. The revamped site was created to provide a user-friendly experience that makes it easier than ever for citizens, businesses and visitors to access information from a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Additionally, CMR staff made more than 1,300 updates to the county’s website to consistently offer new information.
  • Ensured the flow of up-to-date information during crisis events including the January and February tornadoes and on-scene events like the AirGas incident. During the Presidents Day tornado, staff fielded almost 200 phone calls, texts and emails, issued 16 press releases and provided the corresponding social media and website updates in 48 hours.
  • Responded to over 1,000 local, state and national media requests from topics including tornado impacts, EMS and fire response, commission agenda items, staff changes, budget information, jail costs, mosquito safety, housing assistance, drainage projects and more.
  • Maintained the county’s social media accounts, growing the following by 43 percent. Tweeted 1,239 messages to over 13,000 Twitter followers. Increased the county’s social media presence by adding Facebook accounts for Pensacola Beach Lifeguards, emergency management and fire rescue.
  • Coordinated more than 40 county-wide special events, including ribbon-cutting ceremonies, park openings, groundbreakings and community meetings.
  • Created more than 330 design products ranging from business cards, flyers, brochures and signage to annual reports and preparedness guides.
