The Atwood Redevelopment District was adopted by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners in 2015 pursuant to resolution number R2015-64. The district covers an area of approximately 1.78 square miles consisting of medium density mixed uses and is located within close proximity to the newly designated Ensley and Oakfield Redevelopment Districts to the northwest and southwest, respectively.

This district abuts Interstate 10 and Interstate 1-10 to the south and is transected by the Davis Highway and Olive Road commercial corridors. The Atwood district is served by several major anchors which include the Ferry Pass and North Cross shopping centers and West Florida Hospital.

Plans and Related Docs

The Community Redevelopment Agency administers management plans for designated redevelopment districts pursuant to the Community Redevelopment Act of 1969, F.S. Chapter 163. Newly designated during the 2015 fiscal year, the Atwood Redevelopment Plan has not yet been developed. Meeting dates and documents related to the development of the Atwood Redevelopment Plan will be posted to this site as they become available.
