The Escambia County Corrections Department is currently looking for individuals who uphold our values of service, professionalism and vigilance to join our team. The Department is currently accepting applications for Corrections Officers, Detention Assistants and Medical Professionals. These positions have the flexibility of choosing a benefits package that meets personal needs.

Correctional Officer
The Department is hiring individuals who wish to become Certified Corrections Officers and already are certified in the State of Florida. For those who are not yet certified, the Department will pay the tuition for the Corrections Academy as well as salary and benefits during the academy. Correctional Officers oversee and monitor the activities of the inmates housed in our facilities and provide emergency response as needed while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Detention Assistant
The is a non-certified position that does not require any certifications. New Detention Assistants will receive on the job training and carry out various job tasks and opportunities to work in different areas. Detention Assistants work in control rooms, booking, security and clerical positions.
